Infill building keeps picking up in Norman’s older neighborhoods, where a worn out house on a good lot is often worth more as a fresh start. We take down whole homes or sections of them, haul everything away and leave the site ready for your builder. Narrower lots near downtown take careful planning, so we look at access, trees and neighboring homes before we quote. Owners or contractors usually pull the permit, and we’ll walk you through it.
On teardown projects, we start by protecting what’s staying: neighboring homes, fences, trees and the street. Then the crew brings down the house in a controlled sequence, loading debris as we go so it doesn’t pile up. For partial demolition ahead of a remodel, we remove only the sections your contractor has marked and leave the rest of the house secure.
Before we begin, you’ll need utilities disconnected and a demolition permit in place, which your builder can often handle. Share your builder’s schedule so the lot is ready when they are. Your estimate depends on the home’s size, whether it sits on a slab or crawlspace and site access. We’ll keep you updated so there are no surprises from start to finish.
Certain materials like asbestos, lead paint and other hazardous substances require special handling before demolition can begin. See our full list of prohibited materials or give us a call if you’re not sure about something.
