Meet the Owner

I’m Steven Brown, the owner of Dust Bowl Disposal. I was born and raised in Midwest City, graduated from Midwest City High School, and played football there before I ever thought about running a dumpster company.

Growing up, my family ran City Express Automotive, an auto repair shop my dad, uncle, and grandmother kept going for more than 30 years. Spending time around that shop taught me more than I realized at the time, mainly what it actually takes to earn a customer’s trust and keep it, day after day, for decades. We sold that property in 2023, right around the same stretch of time I was getting Dust Bowl off the ground.

Dust Bowl started about as small as a business can start: one truck and a handful of used dumpsters I bought from another local company. For roughly the first three and a half years, I was the whole operation. I answered the phones, talked to every customer myself, delivered and picked up every dumpster, ran junk removal jobs, bought whatever equipment we needed, and figured out the rest as I went.

Since then, we’ve grown into multiple trucks and a growing fleet of dumpsters, serving homeowners, contractors, businesses, and organizations across Central Oklahoma. It didn’t happen overnight, and it didn’t happen because of any shortcut, it happened because we kept showing up.

Outside of work, I’m raising three young daughters, and we’ve made McLoud home. When you call Dust Bowl Disposal, you’re not reaching a call center or a franchise, you’re reaching an actual Oklahoma family that built this business one dumpster, one job, and one customer at a time.
